This racing collection is a bit of a passion project of mine. I've been working on it on and off for the past year or so. The initial idea came from incorporating my logo into a checkered flag, which led to further ideas fueled by my love of racing jackets.
I know I say this often, but this is truly one of my favorite projects to date. I learned so many new tools and techniques throughout the process. For one, I made real progress in a skill I’ve been developing over the past year: illustration. The results are some of the most detailed and in-depth personal concepts I’ve ever created. Every element - down to the design of the jacket buttons - was carefully thought through.
My long-term goal is to someday turn all of these concepts into my own clothing brand.
The process of making highly detailed and realistic mockups has been the next best thing to actually manufacturing the garments. It is a very time intensive and therapeutic process that involves a lot of searching to find the perfect base images to Photoshop into exactly what I had in mind. Everything from the button design to the embroidery pattern, stitching, and textures was carefully composed. One day I hope to put the same attention to detail into the real garment counterparts.
